- Regularly apply a suitable product such as Frontline, Advantage or Effipro to all Cats and Dogs in the household. This will kill the adult fleas on your pets and provide lasting protection against new fleas that may jump onto your pets.
- Treat all of the Cats and Dogs in the household at the recommended treatment interval.
Each animal can act as a host for fleas. - Use an environmental spray or fogger containing an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR)to
the development of any eggs and larvae in your home, not forgetting to treat your curtains and your car. - Regularly vacuum and wash your pets bedding at least 60 centigrade (this temp will kill eggs and larvae).
- Ensure pets still have access to treated areas of your home, as this will encourage Pupae to hatch into fleas, which will then be killed by contact with your treated pet. No insecticidal products will kill Pupae in the home.
Please note that even after following these 5 guidelines you may continue to see fleas on your pets for a few weeks, this is called the "Pupal Window" and will last until all the pupae hatch out and are killed by coming into contact with your treated pet.
